10 Reasons Why Mobile Apps are Better Than Mobile Websites

Studies show that users prefer mobile apps more than mobile websites. The choice between mobile apps and websites depends on their costs, usability, required features and the audiences they serve. The word “app” is an abbreviation for “application.” It’s a piece of software that can run through a web browser or offline on your computer, and on a smartphone phone, tablet, or other devices, including smart TVs and smartwatches. Apps may run both online and offline. A “mobile website” is similar to any other website that is linked together and accessed over the internet (for example WiFi or 3G or 4G network) like any website, mobile websites/responsive sites can display on text content, data, images, and video.

Now let’s explore why mobile apps are better than mobile apps:

1. Freedom in Designing – mobile apps can be designed with a lot of elaborative functions (e.g tap, swipe, and drag). A tap can come as tapping to view a profile of someone whom you may have a certain interest in knowing. e.g, the certain profile of an African entrepreneur on WhatsApp group chat. Swiping can simply be defined as going to the next character of interest (e.g swiping to the next image that has been sent to you by someone who aspires you to become one of the top African entrepreneurs) .

Copying and pasting in mobile apps can be a lot more than in mobile apps. e.g copying and pasting of certain characters in order to re-arrange certain steps in the app development procedure.

2. Ability to function offline – apps can offer basic content and functionality to the users in offline mode. These can come in such a way of providing/simplifying how (for e.g a certain game functions in the entertainment and social industry) work. They can also provide a piece of information about a certain company of interest in the digital world.

3. Mobile apps offer better personalization – personalization is about offering customized communication to the users based on their interests, location, usage behavior, and more. Mobile apps can let users set up their preferences at the start, track their movements and observe user engagement, and use it to custom recommendations and updates to users.

4. The simplicity of sending notifications – Mobile apps can use “in-notifications” – which users can receive if they have opened an app and push notification which is those which they receive regardless of any they are doing in their mobile device.

5. A new stream of conversations – Mobile apps can be a great medium to push users to new conversations funnels (Top of the funnel {ToFu} to Bottom of the funnel and {BoFu}). Apps can possibly develop leads for the business.

6. Brand Loyalty – They can sometimes develop positive marketing stimuli about the company’s products. Seeing how an app performs and being able to satisfy the customers’ needs daily is another factor a customer will use to build brand loyalty towards certain digital marketing venture or an entrepreneur.

7. Users Spend More Time on Apps – Stats predicts that users spend 86% on mobile apps and 14% on mobile websites. This is because mobile apps are affordable and always easy to administer.

8.Making The Use of Mobile Device Features – apps have the advantage that features such cameras, phone calls, GPS can be used within an app and this also makes them save a lot of time on performing certain tasks.

9. Apps are more convenient than websites – Mobile apps automatically stores data when the prospective customers register on the login pages. This gives them an amazing user experience ever in the digital world.

10. Apps Can Work Faster Than Websites – Mobile apps can be able to locally store data without seeking internet servers in order to perform certain tasks.
